CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65

Officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, Proposition 65 is enacted in California to ensure warnings are provided in advance to avoid consumers’ potential exposure to toxic chemical(s) without knowing their risk causing cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Why is the Warning Label Found on Getac Products?

Almost all electronic products contain 1 or more of the chemicals listed under Proposition 65.  This fact does not mean the products pose a significant risk of exposure.  As the consumers have the right to know about the products they purchase, we are giving this warning on our packaging and user manual to keep our consumers well informed.

Are Getac Products Safe?

According to the California government, “The fact that a product bears a Proposition 65 warning does not mean by itself that the product is unsafe,” users may consider the warning label a friendly reminder of the consumers’ “right to know.”
