The Springfield, MA Police Department recently equipped its’ force with Getac Video Solutions’ body-worn cameras. Getac Video was among 10 companies that submitted competing proposals to supply the police equipment.
“We have been working hard for several months to make sure we get the best Body-Worn Camera system for our Officers,” Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood said in a statement.
Soon, all 511 officers in the department will be connected and protected with the rugged and integrated body-worn camera solutions.
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno praised the news, saying the body worn cameras are a “vitally important public safety program.”
Getac Video’s sophisticated body cameras are designed to trigger automatically, via bluetooth from sensor inputs including patrol vehicle lightbar activation, weapon release and many more. Officers can also turn on the cameras manually. In-field tagging, high fidelity audio and flexible mounting solutions are also offered in this rugged and reliable evidence management solution.
