Challenge
SCOPEX has been supplying state-of-the-art equipment and products for mine clearance, tactical equipment and perimeter protection for over 30 years to customers such as the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and Ministry of the Interior, as well as abroad. The company has thus established itself in the Defence and Homeland Security market. SCOPEX works with Getac for the supply of SMINEX (EOD and NEDEX Mobile Intervention Systems - Systèmes Mobiles d'Intervention EOD et NEDEX) powerful, rugged equipment. The new objective was to find an all-in-one rugged solution capable not only of withstanding the harsh conditions of field missions in a reduced format, but also of being fully interoperable with existing systems.
Solution
SCOPEX supplies military and security forces with Getac rugged solutions meeting MIL-STD military standards for their special operations in sometimes extreme conditions and in any type of location. SCOPEX teams chose the X600 laptop, interoperable with deminers' office systems and all SMINEX systems. After studying the various offers from the major players in the military market, GETAC proved to be the most suitable supplier, as it was the only one on the market to offer 15" rugged computer in such a compact format, with sufficient performance for the various applications. The quality of the communication with the Getac teams and their technical expertise was also a key factor in the decision.
Benefits
The reduction in equipment weight and volume is made possible using the X600 solution, which enables SCOPEX teams to offer a single system for the entire SMINEX offering. EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) operators can efficiently carry out the tasks of analysing X-ray images of suspect packages and other items, as well as the office automation tasks specific to response service teams. Users benefit from a fully rugged computer, a compact footprint and powerful, high-quality hardware.
