Getac’s PS236 rugged handheld device and V100 rugged convertible notebook / tablet PC won Best Choice Awards for 2010 at the Computex trade show in Taipei.
The PS236 received top honours in the ‘communications’ category and the V100 in the ‘computer and system’ category, with both products winning praise for innovation, functionality and international appeal.
The PS236 gives field-based personnel real-time communications through its integrated HSDPA module, offers GPS (exact coordinates to within 5 metres), a built-in camera which can transmit pictures with data-tags, and Getac’s proprietary Geo-Tagging application, allowing users to tag geographic information (such as GPS location, E-compass and altimeter) into a JPEG file.
The V100 features QuadraClear technology with touchscreen, allowing for optimal viewing even in direct sunlight (using special anti-reflective coatings and polarisers); military personnel use the V100 for viewing maps and intelligence data even in desert sun. It comes with an industry-leading five year warranty.
