Taipei, Taiwan, January 11, 2023: Getac Technology Corp. and Getac, Inc. (collectively, “Getac”) announced today that they have reached a settlement agreement with Panasonic Holdings Corporation (“Panasonic”) resolving an on-going patent dispute between the parties.
In a lawsuit filed in California, Panasonic accused older versions of Getac’s K120 and UX10 products of infringing three patents in the United States. Getac denied Panasonic’s allegations and sought a finding of non-infringement and invalidity of Panasonic’s patents by filing the notice of appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
The parties have now agreed to settle the litigation, and Getac has received a release under the asserted three patents. Getac has further advanced the technology of its product lines and has recently begun offering a newer version of the K120 and UX10 products to its customers, including K120G2-R and UX10G2-R.
“Getac is one of the most innovative rugged computing companies in the world. Getac is proud to continue to create unique rugged computing solutions for its worldwide customers. As a holder of numerous design and utilities patents, Getac proactively manages and protects its intellectual property,” said Rick Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation.
